This is my domestic questionnaire. I use it for both uncontested divorces
and separation agreements.
An uncontested or "absolute" divorce is a legal action severing your marital
relationship with your spouse. People who divorce usually do so when all
other marital issues have been settled. So it is important to understand
this divorce action will bar you from seeking alimony or the division of
marital properties in the future. If you are still seeking alimony or have
not fully divided your martial properties you should resolve these issues
before seeking a divorce. But if your marital issues are settled, complete
this form on line, send it to us, and we will prepare your paperwork and
forward instructions for payment. If you need additional information about
an uncontested divorce and/or our prices, visit
this page.
A separation agreement is discussed in detail
here. Here I am only seeking preliminary
information to start a file. Once I review your answers I will send you
additional questions by email concerning your marital assets - what you have
and how you intend to divide them. But give me some idea of what is going
on by telling me, in the "Describe Your Situation" box below, what you
think a separation agreement will do, what you want to happen, how you want
your properties divided and whether you believe a Court Order might be a
better option.
Why do I ask for income information? Since a divorce will bar a future claim
for alimony I evaluate your eligibility for this support. If I think you
are eligible for alimony I will let you know and schedule a consultation to
discuss your options.
